In one of my recent posts I mentioned that many blogs fail because the author of the blog is not passionate about the subject he is writing about. When I say that they fail, I mean that a blog becomes abandoned and the author is not publishing any new posts. Such a blog will not receive a lot of traffic because the readers will know that there is a very low chance that a new post will be published.
Interestingly, most new blogs are getting abandoned quite fast after their creation. The reason for this is that the blog writers lack passion for the topic they are discussing. One of the reasons for this is that they choose a niche they hoped would be very popular, but they were not really interested in the topic, or they simply changed their interests. Choosing a popular blog topic such as entertainment or celebrity gossip means that there are many potential visitors. However, since there are already many blogs on the subject, it is clear that you are going to have a lot of competition. Ultimately, it is hard to predict how many visitors you will have, so the most important thing is to be passionate about the subject you are writing. This way your blog will be successful, no matter how many competitors there are going to be.
Are you passionate about your blog? This is a question you may want to ask yourself. If you are truly passionate, I am sure that you will be a successful blogger, simply because you are going to enjoy blogging.
