I am so glad that another Christmas season is already upon us. I wait for Christmas every year and I am never disappointed.
I have a feeling that this year’s Christmas is going to be completely different. I have already some activities planned both for my family as well as for myself. I am not sure if I am going to watch any TV this year during Christmas, but if I am it is going to be online programming.
It is interesting to see how many people are choosing online programming over terrestrial TV these days. I am not saying that everybody is going to do it, but that more people than ever are going to turn to their computers in order to watch TV online. I am not surprised as there is something very appealing about watching TV in front of your PC and being able to choose exactly what it is you want to watch.
In an interesting survey conducted by Broadband Genie 47% of respondents said they weren’t planning to watch any online TV this Christmas while 6% of those surveyed said they were going to do it to a large extent.
When it comes to watching terrestrial TV only 6% of those surveyed said that they weren’t going to watch at all while 38% were going to watch to a large extent.
Based on the survey it turns out that when it comes to the preferences between online TV and terrestrial both men and women choose the same options, which means that neither men nor women are more likely to watch more online TV this year. When it comes to terrestrial TV it seems that men in general are going to watch more of it this December than women do probably mostly due to the fact that many women will be busy in the kitchen during this very special time of year.
