Most of us think about visiting countries such as Greece in the middle of summer when the weather is very hot and when you can swim in the sea for many hours straight, but there is a lot more to Greece than you might think especially during winter months of November and December. So if you prefer the quietness of Greece in winter you are in for some fabulous holidays in Greece.
There are several types of attractions waiting for you there in winter. I know that for many of us the Christmas season is the best time to travel. The Greeks know it and this is why they want to surprise you with their traditional food as well as the many festivities taking place all over the island on a daily basis. In my opinion as well as in the opinion of many other travelers out there food is one of the best things about Greece. A taste of true Greek cuisine is absolutely mandatory for all those visiting the islands. You will find there plenty of fresh grilled seafood straight from the sea. Greece is also famous for its Cheese hence the Greek salad. Additionally, tomatoes as well as basil are two main ingredients of the many Greek dishes together with olives and olive oil.
The Greeks are also renowned for their famous pork. There is lots of livestock in Greece including cows and pigs, and their farmers tend to them usually until the Christmas time when they make sausages that are lean, healthy and delicious.
I recommend a trip to Greece to all those who want to enjoy everything this special country has to offer. The country is a lot more quiet during winter months, but this can be a good thing if you want to escape the hustle and bustle of civilisation.
