Do you ever feel like you are stuck in a rut, merely going on about your daily routine and getting rather sluggish mentally in the process? If so, then it is time to recharge your mind by reading, visiting museums and exploring new music.
Read
The best way to recharge your mind is to read. Don’t just pick up the latest romance, mystery or thriller novel either, as enjoyable as those may be. Challenge yourself. Open up a classic novel you’ve always wanted to read but never quite gotten around to. Take out a Shakespeare play, and dive in. Grab a book of English poetry, and sample a bit of John Donne or Robert Browning. Even reach back into classical Greek literature, and tackle Homer’s Iliad or Odyssey. All of these will stretch your mind.
Visit Museums
Another excellent way to recharge your mind is to visit a museum. Start with your local history museum, perhaps, and learn about the events and people that shaped your area’s past. Travel to your state historical society, and spend a day there, looking at exhibits or researching your family’s history or a topic of special interest. If you are more inclined to art, enjoy some time at an art museum or sculpture park. Don’t just glance at the exhibits in whatever museum you choose to visit. Take time to really read about them and reflect on them.
Explore New Music
You probably have your musical favorites, but to recharge your mind, you need to reach beyond them and explore something new. If you have always meant to start listening to classical music, now is the time. Check your music streaming service for classical play lists. You might also attend an orchestra or chamber music concert or a classical music event Marlborough NH.
Whatever you decide to do, make a commitment to breaking your rut and delving into new ideas and new beauty to recharge your mind.
