Con Artists

The Internet is a place where thousands of people are getting scammed. Con artist or scam artist is a popular term to depict somebody who is trying to scam people by luring them into giving their personal information about their bank accounts, credit cards etc. The most famous type of scam they use involves sending an email to a victim and then asking him to go to a specific website and enter their personal info. This method does not seem to work anymore that well because many people learned to recognize it as a scam. However, scammers might also send you an email in which they will tell you to contact your bank or other institution by giving you a specific number to call. Of course, on the other side of the line there will be a scammer. Such trick makes more people believe that this is not a scam and thus more people fall for it. Be careful and do not trust every email you receive. The Internet is a quite dangerous place, especially if you are not careful. If you ever get asked by email to contact a financial institution such as PayPal, then contact them the way you always do. Do not directly reply to an email, but rather visit their website that you know you can trust and fill out a contact form. Realizing the dangers of the Internet will make you less vulnerable to scammers. It will also ensure that you will be able to recognize various cons that scammers will want to trick you with.
